Grand Canyon looked to be off to the start it got the day before when Tyler Bair hit a solo home run to left field to take a 1-0 lead, but the Coyotes tied it in the bottom half on a Veiga single to right center to score Ornleas. After a Kono single loaded the bases, Julio Torres cleared them with a double that blooped into left field to put CSUSB up 4-1.

The Lopes walked three of the first four batters in the third as Brent Planck and Ornelas had an RBI single before Madison ripped a double down the left field line to add two more. Ryan Hulbert made it a 13-1 game with a double to right center.
Ornelas hit his sixth home run of the year in the bottom of the fifth to put the Coyotes up 14-1. Kono then singled up the middle to score Veiga from third to make it 15-1.
The Lopes scored four runs in the top of the seventh to make it 15-5, but a two-run home run by Drew Peterson in the bottom half of the inning, his first of the year, pushed CSUSB out to a 17-5 advantage.
GCU added a run in the seventh and four more in the ninth to close it to 17-9, but the Coyotes closed out the regular season with a win.
