Biography

2009: Planck played in 38 games, starting 37 times, primarily at second base.  He batted .270 with six doubles and 12 RBI and scored 20 runs. He handled 148 chances in the field with 76 assists and 65 putouts and helped turn 18 double plays with a fielding percentage of .953. He was the Coyote Athletics Department Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row.
    
2008: Planck had an outstanding season before an injury sidelined him late in the spring. He batted .266 in 43 games, 38 of them starts. He scored 29 runs, had six doubles, three home runs and 22 runs batted in. He handled 191 chances, mostly at second base, with a team-leading 114 assists and only two errors for a .990 fielding percentage. He earned all-CCAA honorable mention and was named the Coyote Athletics Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
    
BEFORE CAL STATE: Planck attended University of San Diego for two years and played one season of baseball.
        
HIGH SCHOOL: He is a 2005 graduate of James Madison HS in San Diego where he played four years of baseball and three years of football. In baseball, he was team MVP, best offensive player and the Harbor League player of the year.
        
PERSONAL: Planck is a business major who plans to own a successful business. He has coached a Little League team, been a graduate assistant and an elementary school mentor.  He enjoys movies,  and  sports in his spare time. His parents are Debbie and David Planck.
         
MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT -- Scoring the winning run on Senior Day last season, a 12-inning game against S.F. State.
         
WHAT I WANT TO BE DOING IN FIVE YEARS: Making a lot of money.
