CSUSB suffers 10th CCAA loss; teams play two Saturday

Jason Klug drove in his 34th run of the season in Friday's 9-7 loss to Cal Poly Pomona
Cal Poly Pomona scored two runs in the 11th inning Friday to defeat Cal State San Bernardino, 9-7, in a CCAA baseball game at Arrowhead Credit Union Park.
The Coyotes (11-13 overall, 3-10 in the CCAA) took a 6-4 lead into the top of the ninth but couldn't hold it as the Broncos (6-15 overall, 3-9 in the CCAA) rallied to tie the game at 6-6 to force extra innings.
After both teams scored a run in the 10th to remain tied at 7-7, the Broncos scored on a sacrifice fly by Joe Villa and a wild pitch by Eric Meyerholtz to pull out the win and hand the Coyotes their 11th home defeat of the season against six wins.
CSUSB took an early 3-0 lead, scoring twice in the first inning on RBI singles by Johnnie Haas and Jason Klug, the latter increased his CCAA-leading RBI count to 34, and a run in the fourth on an RBI single by Drew Valenzuela.
Cal Poly tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth on RBI singles from Kyle Boggio, Joshua Potter and Chris Wilson. CSUSB came back with three in the seventh on a hit and two Bronco errors to make it 6-3.
Pomona scored a run in the eighth on an RBI single by Villa, then Wilson drove in two runs in the ninth off Coyotes closer Ward Minich who blew the save opportunity.
Sean Hunter (1-2) got the win in relief for Pomona, pitching 2.2 innings, allowing one run and one hit.
David Martin (0-1) took the loss for CSUSB.
