ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Six California State University San Bernardino women's volleyball student-athletes earned All-Conference recognition from the California Collegiate Athletic Association Tuesday evening.
Junior Kacie Pedersen (Riverside, Calif.) led the selections for the Coyotes, being named to the All-Conference First Team. She currently ranks third in the conference in kills per set with 4.12 and also averaged 2.81 digs per set while accumulating 35 blocks and 32 service aces. Earlier today, she earned her first CCAA Offensive Player of the Week nod.
Senior Jayden Chornomud (Canyon Lake, Calif.) was one of four Second Team selections for the Yotes. The starting libero averaged 4.09 digs per set, which ranks third in CCAA. M'Kera Drake (San Bernardino, Calif.) picked up her second consecutive Second Team honor, recording 123 kills and a .364 attack percentage while recording 97 blocks, which currently ranks second in the conference.
Newcomer McKenna Edwards (Santa Clarita, Calif.) averaged 7.58 assists and 2.41 digs per set on her way to Second Team honors at the setter position. Sophomore Kisa Sagiao (San Diego, Calif.) recorded 212 kills and a .280 attack percentage and 85 blocks to round out the Second Team honorees for CSUSB.
Junior Allison Legates (Los Altos, Calif.) was the lone Coyote representative among the Honorable Mention selection, earning a spot for the second consecutive season. She currently leads the CCAA in total blocks (119) and blocks per set (1.28).
The group helped the Coyotes reach their 10th consecutive CCAA Tournament, continuing the streak of making every conference tournament since its inception in 2015. The Yotes have received a bye into the semifinals, where they will play the winner of the Cal State Los Angeles vs. Cal State East Bay First Round matchup on Friday evening. First serve from Stanislaus State's Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena is slated for 3 p.m.
