Rebekah Frazier placed 16th to lead the Coyotes' women's cross country team at the CCAA Championships, held at Sprng Lake Regional Park.
Frazier ran the 6,000-meter course in 22:02.5 and just missed earning All-CCAA honors. The top 15 earn conference honors.
The Coyotes finished eighth with 232 points.
The Coyotes' top seven included:
Courtney Ciraulo (53/48 -- 23:09.4),
Niki Chesnut (62/54 -- 23:26.3),
Dominique Esparza (64/55 -- 23:28.2),
Victoria Perdomo (70/59 -- 23:37.6),
Janelle Myers (73 -- 23:40.1) and
Deserae Perez (77/65 -- 23:45.8).
Taylor Hebb finished 79th (23:53.1), Jackie Felix was 83rd, 24:02.9), and Marisela Giles placed 96th, 24:44.3 to complete the Coyotes' day.
Chico State's women won the event for the eighth time in ten years, including a streak of four consecutive years.
Chico State's Alia Gray earned CCAA Women's Runner of the Year honors, taking home the individual title with a time of 21:07.1. Four other Wildcats finished in the Top 12, as Chico State accumulated 37 points. Cal Poly Pomona's Tiffany Dinh finished second (21:13.8) to help the Broncos finish second with 98 points.
Cal State L.A. came in at third (100), UC San Diego placed fourth (103) and Cal State Stanislaus finished fifth (107). San Francisco State (129), Humboldt State (189), Cal State San Bernardino (232), Cal State East Bay (264) and Cal State Monterey Bay (281) all finished ahead of Sonoma State (298) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (322).
San Francisco State's Zuleima Jimenez earned Newcomer of the Year accolades and Chico State's Tiffany Heflin garnered Freshman of the Year honors. Wildcats head coach Gary Towne was named Coach of the Year, as voted on by the coaches in the conference.
