RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's cross country team wrapped up its 2025 regular season by competing in the 6k open race Saturday morning at UC Riverside's Highlander Invitational. Just six days away from the CCAA Championships, the Coyotes only sent a partial squad to participate in the race at UCR.Â
Freshman
Lily Deaton (Menifee, Calif.) led the way for the Coyotes on Saturday, placing 15th in the field with a time of 23:20.6. She was followed closely by senior
Ximena Martinez (San Bernardino, Calif.), who set a 6k personal best of 23:50.2 to place 20th.
The third Coyote across the line was junior
Diana Vera (Colton, Calif.), who placed 32nd at 24:25.6. Behind Vera was classmate
Amanda Lynch (San Bernardino, Calif.), who had the biggest Coyote PR of the meet at 55 seconds, running a time of 24:34.1.
Aliya Hester (Menifee, Calif.) was the fifth Coyote finisher on Saturday morning, placing 54th overall at 25:39.6, followed by senior
Adileni Pacheco (Homeland, Calif.) who ran a time of 25:47.3 to place 56th.Â
Rounding out the Coyote competitors were senior
Kasey Plumb (Mentone, Calif.) who ran a time of 26:11.6 and freshman
Angie Valenzuela (Beaumont, Calif.) who ran a time of 26:45.6.
The Yotes will return to action on Friday for the CCAA Championships at Bidwell Park in Chico. The 6k championship race will begin at 10:00 a.m.
