POMONA -- Cal State San Bernardino bunched six hits together for a four-run fifth inning as the Coyotes defeated Cal Poly Pomona, 4-2, in the nightcap of their Saturday CCAA doubleheader at Scolinos Field on the Pomona campus.
The Broncos won the opener, 4-1, behind the four-hit pitching of Ryan Screnar. The Coyotes are now 12-14 on the season and 4-11 in the CCAA, mired in ninth place, a half-game behind the Broncos who finished the four-game series with a 7-16 overall mark, 4-10 in the conference.

Chad Borowski, making his first start of the season a solid one, pitched six innings, yielding eight hits and two runs for his first victory of 2008.
Michael Leal pitched the seventh to earn his first save of the season.
CSUSB banged out 11 hits in game two, scoring all four runs off Pomona starter Sheldon McGregor (1-2) on RBI singles by
Brent Planck,
Jesus Beltran and
Chris LeFay. Beltran, the designated hitter for the game, went three-for-four while LeFay and
Johnnie Haas each had two hits.
Screnar pitched a complete game four-hitter for the Broncos in the opener, allowing the Coyotes only one run. In the top of the first,
Billy Haynes came home on a fielding error by Pomona.
Kevin Wilson went the distance for the Coyotes, giving up just six hits and four runs.
The two teams wound up splitting their four-game series.
CSUSB will host Grand Canyon University for a single game at 6 p.m. March 21 and then play the Antelopes in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 22, at Arrowhead Credit Union Park.
