    BEFORE CAL STATE: He played two years of baseball at Cal Lutheran University.
    HIGH SCHOOL: Haynes played four years of baseball and two years of soccer at Littlerock High School in Palmdale, graduating in 2004. He was team MVP and first-team all-league in baseball and first team all-league in soccer.
    PERSONAL: He is a kinesiology major. He volunteered his time at a holiday benefit for heart transplant patients. His mother is Joan Haynes.
