Strong Cal State L.A. team is Friday's opponent in Coussoulis Arena

Jessica Granados (13) and Samantha Middleborn (8) block an attack by UC San Diego player in Nov. 1 win by Coyotes.
Cal State San Bernardino hopes to take care of business Friday and Saturday to (1) capture its third straight California Collegiate Athletic Association women's volleyball championship and (2) earn the top seed for next week's NCAA West Regional.
CSUSB, 23-3 overall, 15-3 in the CCAA is in the driver's seat on the road to accomplish both goals unless the team runs into a roadblock in the form of the Cal State L.A. Golden Eagles, who defeated the Coyotes, 3-1, in their first meeting at L.A. last month.
The Coyotes are ranked No. 2 in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Assn. L.A. is No. 19 in Division II.
Friday's 7 p.m. matchup pits the region's No. 1 team (CSUSB) against the No. 7 team (Cal State L.A.). The Coyotes want to protect their No. 1 status while the Golden Eagles are seeking a higher seed in the tournament.
Saturday's match features Cal State Dominguez Hills, a team that could make its season by upsetting the Coyotes. The Toros are just 3-24 overall and 2-17 in the CCAA after losing to region No. 3 Cal Poly Pomona, 3-0, on Wednesday night.
