BEFORE CAL STATE: Washington attended Grand Canyon Univesity and played one year of volleyball at Citrus College in Covina, earning the coach’s award. She ranked No. 2 in the state in blocks per game with a 2.08 average (187 blocks in 90 games).

HIGH SCHOOL: The 2004 graduate of Walnut High School was a three-year letter winner in volleyball and one year in track. She earned second-team all-CIF honors twice in volleyball. She also played four years of club volleyball.

PERSONAL: Washington is majoring in education with plans to teach second grade after graduation. She enjoys movies, shopping, dating her boyfriend and spending time with family. She has been a volunteer volleyball coach and assisted in hometown cleanup efforts.

FAVORITES: Fast food – In-N-Out; Treat – Coldstone Creamery “birthday cake remix”; TV program – Las Vegas; Movie – “White Chicks”; Music – hip-hop; Meal – Aunt Linda’s macaroni and cheese; College class – Spanish.

MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT – First time I hit a ball at the 10-foot line.

MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT – During a soccer match a ball was kicked right at me and I was still in volleyball mentally and I jumped up and spiked the ball.

WHY I CHOSE CSUSB – To play volleyball.
