Gerald Duncan was a member of the first CSUSB men's basketball team to advance to the NCAA Tournament when athletics was in its fifth year of existence as a Division III program. His legacy remained at the time of his Hall of Fame induction 34 years later, when he was still listed among the top five in program history in a handful of statistical categories. Among them, he still reigned supreme as the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,694 career points. In his final two seasons, Duncan led the Yotes to a combined overall record of 41-10 record in 1987-88 and 1988-89.
