SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's track & field team wrapped up the CCAA Championships Saturday afternoon, placing sixth overall out of 10 teams.
Junior
Kennedi Jones (San Diego, Calif.) started the day with a seventh place finish in the shot put, earned a pair of points for the Coyotes with a heave of 11.60 meters.
The 4x100 meter team of
La Sheau Hayden (Bakersfield, Calif.),
Skye Harris (Los Angeles, Calif.),
Coryssa Hope (Moreno Valley, Calif.), and
Rymiyah Pringle-Hamilton (Oakland, Calif.) earned CSUSB's first podium finish of the day, placing third at 46.36 seconds, the fastest 4x100 of the season for the Coyotes.
Junior
Joace Warrior (Colton, Calif.) was CSUSB's first of two silver medalists on Saturday, as she ran a time of 14.05 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles. Later, Harris would place second in the 100 meter dash at 11.91 seconds, good for fifth on the CSUSB all-time list and just .02 seconds away from the CCAA champion in the event.
Harris would also get on the podium in the 200, running a time of 24.20 seconds to place third. In the same event, Hope was seventh at 24.69 seconds, the lone event CSUSB had multiple scorers in.
Hope also competed in the 400 meter, placing fourth at 55.81 seconds, and was the first leg on the 4x400 meter relay, which alongside Hayden, Pringle-Hamilton, and
Briana Miller (San Bernardino, Calif.) placed third at 3:48.73.
The final point scorer of the day was senior
Kai Marroquin (Rosemead, Calif.) in the 800 meter run. She placed seventh at 2:18.15.
Next, the Coyotes will take part in the Franson Last Chance Meet, starting on Thursday at Azusa Pacific University.
