SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's track & field team opened up competition Thursday at day one of the CCAA Championships, hosted by Cal State San Marcos.
The only points of the day came in the discus, where a pair of Coyotes had top-eight finishes to score points for CSUSB. Senior
Melissa Fongod (Corona, Calif.) was fourth in the event at 40.33 meters, while classmate
Miranda Owen (San Bernardino, Calif.) was eighth at 37.41 meters.
On the track, a pair of Yotes had strong outings in their respective qualifying events to punch their tickets to the finals on Saturday. Junior
Coryssa Hope (Moreno Valley, Calif.) was the fifth place finisher in the 400 meter dash to place fifth and qualify for the final, while classmate
Skye Harris (Los Angeles, Calif.) PRed with a 100 meter dash of 11.96 seconds to place second.
The Coyotes will be back in action on Friday for day two of the CCAA Championships.
