RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's cross country team competed Saturday morning in the 5k UCR Invitational at the UCR Ag Ops Course.
Leading the way for the Coyotes was senior
Kai Marroquin (Rosemead, Calif.), who placed 10th overall at 18:05.3, a 32-second personal best.
Junior
Yoselin Canseco (San Bernardino, Calif.) was the second Coyote across the line, placing 54th with a PR of 18:54.4. She was followed by freshman
Julia Fernandez (Indio, Calif.) who PRed by over a minute with a time of 19:05.6.
Senior
Samantha Avila (Menifee, Calif.) crossed the line fourth for CSUSB, running a time of 19:23.2, over a minute faster than her time at the same event last season. Classmate
Lidia Barrios (Perris, Calif.) was next for CSUSB, running a time of 19:35.8.
Junior
Hailey Lynk (Banning, Calif.) finished less than three seconds behind Barrios in 123rd place, running a time of 19:38.7.
Rounding out the scorers for the Coyotes was junior
Liana Brehm (Menifee, Calif.). She finished 140th overall with a run of 19:56.3.
Next up for the Coyotes, they will be back in action next weekend at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. The race is slated for an 8:30 a.m. start.
