Hailey Hunt Named CCAA Track & Field Athlete of the Year

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - California State University San Bernardino senior Hailey Hunt (Winnetka, Calif.) has been voted as the 2025 Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Year by the California Collegiate Athletic Association coaches.

Hunt had one of the best seasons for any sprinter in CCAA history, winning three All-American awards at last month's 2025 NCAA Track & Field Championships.

At Nationals, Hunt finished fourth in the 100m and 200m with times of 11.28 and 22.93, respectively.

The senior, along with Alexandra Ackerman, Amari Weatherford, and Coryssa Hope were part of the second-fastest women's 4x100 meter relay in NCAA Division II history with a time of 43.93. Hunt was also a member of CSUSB's 4x400 meter team that placed fifth at nationals.

Hunt helped CSUSB to the best finish at nationals in program history, and her 12 points helped the Coyotes score 28 points which is also the most by any CCAA women's program at nationals since San Francisco State's 42 points in 2019.

Hunt is only the second CCAA student-athlete in the last five years to earn three first-team All-American awards at a single championship. The Art major concludes her career as a five-time All-American, as she collected two second-team honors last season in the 200m and the 4x100m relay.

In addition to her success on the national stage, Hunt excelled at the CCAA championships. She set a new CCAA championship record in the 100m, cutting the record from 11.59 seconds to 11.30.

Hunt also helped both the 4x100m and 4x400 relay teams set records. The 4x100m relay became the first team in CCAA Championship history to break the 45-second time with a time of 44.83 seconds. The 4x400m relay team beat the previous record by more than a second with a time of 3:40.52. Additionally, Hunt finished second in the 200m.

Hunt is the first CSUSB student-athlete to win CCAA Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Year honors since the award's inception 1999.
