EMPORIA, Kan. - The California State University San Bernardino women's track & field team wrapped up its 2024 season on Friday evening, competing in three preliminary events at the NCAA Championships at Welch Stadium.
Hailey Hunt (Winnetka, Calif.) started off the day for the Coyotes by narrowly falling short of qualifying for Saturday's final in the 200 meter dash. She matched her qualifying time at 23.49 seconds to place ninth, missing the final by a slim .01 seconds. She earns Second Team All-America for her efforts.
Senior Kyndahl Carter (Los Angeles, Calif.) caught a tough break when she competed in the 100 meter hurdles, when she clipped the final hurdle and crossed the finish line with a time of 14.18 seconds for a 15th place finish. She appeared to be among the leaders in her heat when she hit the hurdle.
In the final event of the evening, the 4x400 meter relay team of Prishencia Nnoham (Palmdale, Calif.), Coryssa Hope (Riverside, Calif.), Na'kel Pennix (Redlands, Calif.), and Alexis White (San Bernardino, Calif.) wrapped up the meet with a 16th place finish and a time of 3:46.56.
