RIVERSIDE, Calif. - In the last race prior to the CCAA Championship meet held in Monterey Bay on November 5
th, the Yotes came through in a big way. On the cool morning on the quick course, the Yotes raced out to their best team time on the year by nearly 3 minutes with a time of 1:53:57, bettering their previous seasons best by 1:52.

"The Yotes came to compete at the UCR Invite. This was the strongest team finish of the season thus far. I am so proud of how the season is progressing as we approach (the) CCAA Championships in two weeks. We have big goals and are well within reach of accomplishing them." – Coach McDonald
Alexis Wallace led the way for the Yotes with a personal best time of 21:58.6, an improvement of 12 seconds. This moved her up to 8
th all time at this distance in CSUSB's history. She placed 72
nd overall in a field that featured several top division I and II programs such as UCLA, Arizona, Colorado, and Adams State.
Joanna Lopez came through in a time of 22:25.8, a 28 second improvement on her previous personal best. This is her second personal best this season and a total improvement of 58 seconds from her best time at this distance coming into the season.
Kai Marroquin crossed the line in a personal best time of 23:13.5, a 26 second improvement from her previous quickest time.
Miranda Avila and
Nicole Renteria both achieved seasonal bests with 23:02.5 and 23:16.6 respectively. Renteria's time was a 46 second improvement over her previous best on the course.

"I just wanted to go out there and give it my all and today I was really confident, I felt really good in my body and I knew what I had to do to get my job done which is what I think I did today. There's more work to do and I am excited to see what happens at Monterey Bay." – Nicole Renteria
Arlene Castro led the Yotes with the most improvement on their personal or season's best improving her time by 1 minute and 18 seconds. She has improved her time by over 2 minutes over the course of the year.

Castro was one of 9 personal bests on the day for the team and 4 seasons best overall. This marked their best team performance on the year with a 5-man gap of 1:18, a nearly one minute improvement from last weeks race.
