The CSUSB Yotes travelled down to San Marcos to compete in the Cal State San Marcos Cougar Challenge which hosted many of the top teams in the CCAA. With less than a month to go before the CCAA championship cross country meet hosted at the very same course, many teams came to compete and survey the course.

"It was great to get the team (to) compete on the championship course. We got to compete against several northern CCAA teams we don't normally get to see prior to the championships. Coach McDonald is doing a great job at preparing our women. We are very excited to see what our team does in the upcoming weeks." – Coach Reimer-Podgaysky

Miranda Avila led the way for the Yotes coming across the line with a personal best 22:55.1. This is her second lifetime best performance this season. Nicole Renteria ran a personal best as well, knocking off 40 seconds from her race time at UCR the previous week. Sujey Esteva ran a season's best 23:47.9 with Joanna Lopez (23:51.2) and Marissa Angulo (24:13.9) round out the top 5 for the Yotes.

"The Yotes raced well at (the) CCAA Preview. Each week the team is getting better at racing as a PACK. (We) got quite a few PR's and are continuing to improve our race strategy. The team loved the course and I can't wait to see how we perform when we come back in four weeks." – Coach McDonald
