POMONA, Calif. - With two weeks left till conference, the CSUSB Yotes travelled to Pomona-Pitzer for their final tune up of the regular season before competing at the CCAA conference championships hosted by CSU San Marcos on October 23^rd. This marked their fourth competition of the season.

The Hilly course and relatively cold weather provided slower times for all racers involved but that didn't deter Coach McDonald from taking positives away from this weekend's action.

"With how hard the course was, our top 3 all pushed really hard. Genesis Obispo turned it on in the second half of the race and made an impact in team scoring" said Coach McDonald.

"In this race I ran with a new strategy and felt stronger than in previous races. we've been pushing each other and supporting each other and I'm really excited going into conference" said Genesis Obispo.

Miranda Avila led the way for the Yotes scoring 15^th overall in the race with a time of 23:05.3. Nicole Renteria and Joanna Lopez scored 29 and 33 points respectively, running in times of 23:57.9 and 24:05.2. Sujey Esteva and Genesis Obispo clocked in times of 24:39.1 and 25:00.9 scored 43 and 49 points to round out the top 5 for the Yotes.

The Coyotes are looking for their best finish at the CCAA championships since 2018 when they finished 4^th at the championship meet.
"You can see the cohesion among them, working together and running strong in a pack. They're taking risks during their race, really working to score" said Coach Reimer-Podgaysky.

Coach McDonald feels confident that the team will perform when it comes time to race at the CCAA championship. "I feel confident that these girls have worked well as a pack. We're shooting for a top six finish as a team. Going to Oregon is their goal and as long as they believe it, they're going to achieve it."
