SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The CSU San Bernardino Coyotes finished eighth among 31 teams at The Master's Challenge on Saturday.  CSUSB was the top NCAA Division II finisher.
Julia Cantrell led the way finishing at 19:11.6 and finishing in 48th place.  It was almost a group finish with Carissa Gomez coming in at 19:17.3 in 52nd and Giselle Sanchez crossing the line right after in 53rd at 19:17.9.  Destiny Jacobo recorded a time of 19:45.2 and took 71st.  There were 202 total runners.
It was a really good day, as I sat my top four runners down for the weekend and our team really responded," head coach Tom Burleson said.  "I am very proud of all my ladies as they show up ready to compete every week." 
Amber Gore of USC was the individual winner at 17:45.8 and UCLA took the team title.
The season continues next Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in Pomona, Calif.
