LA JOLLA -- Eric Dow hit a solo home run, but the Coyotes were shut down 5-2 in the second game Saturday in their doubleheader against UC San Diego.

The Coyotes, who lost the opener 8-4, are 22-15 overall and 19-13 in the CCAA. They play at San Francisco State for a four-game series that begins Friday.

The Tritons led 1-0 and gained control with a four-run fifth against the Coyotes.

Matt Haney added a run-scoring single that drove in Darren Dworak for the Coyotes' run in the seventh.

In the opener, Dworak and Alex Gutierrez each homered, but the Tritons scored three runs in the first and never trailed.

Dworak had two RBI, while Ethan Chapman and Edwin Mendoza each had one. Chapman, Dworak, Gutierrez, Haney and Mendoza each had two hits.
