STOCKTON, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's golf team sits in a tie for fourth place after the opening round of the NCAA West/South Central Regional at the Reserve at Spanos.
The Coyotes had a team score of two strokes under par, three shots off the pace set by Western Washington University.
Sophomore
Tyler Price (Yucaipa, Calif.) shot CSUSB's low round of the day with a three-under 69. He birdied four of his first six holes on the day, and five total for his round to move into a tie for third on the individual leaderboard.
A shot back of Price was classmate
Aaron Parayno (Fresno, Calif.), who finished with a two-under 70. He birdied three holes on the back nine, including a clutch three on the the par-four 18th to move CSUSBÂ up the leaderboard.Â
Junior
Kamron Hopson (Redlands, Calif.) turned in a one-under 71 to place third on the Yotes. He made three front nine birdies en route to his 71.
Rounding out the CSUSB scorers on Thursday was CCAA Newcomer of the Year
Marco Lin (Taoyuan, Taiwan), who shot a four-over 76.
CSUSB will be back on the course on Tuesday for round two, starting with their first tee time at 10 a.m.Â
