RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's track & field team competed Saturday in the second and final day of the Chris Rinne Invitational, hosted by UC Riverside.
Four student-athletes either moved up or entered the CSUSB top-10 lists on Saturday, starting with the very first track event of the day, when junior
Liana Brehm (Menifee, Calif.) won the 800 meter run with time of 2:20.88 to move into eighth on the all-time list. Her time was a PR by nearly two and a half seconds.
Junior
Joace Warrior (Colton, Calif.) jumped up one spot into second on the all-time top-10 list for the Yotes in the 100 meter hurdles running a time of 13.95 seconds to win the event with the NCAA Division II provisional mark.
In the 400 meter run, junior
Coryssa Hope (Moreno Valley, Calif.) placed third with a time of 56.31 seconds, while freshman
Jasmine Jaramillo (Lakewood, Calif.) broke into the top-10 list at number nine with her run of 59.07.
Junior
Lacie Westervelt (Vancouver, Wash.) moved up to a tie for sixth on 400 meter hurdles list, completing her lap around the track in 1:08.21. She narrowly beat out sophomore
Sauzhane Johnson (Victorville, Calif.), who placed third at 1:10.69.Â
Also on the track, freshman
La Sheau Hayden (Bakersfield, Calif.) was the top Coyote finisher in the 100 meter dash at 12.32 seconds, beating out junior
Rymiyah Pringle-Hamilton (Oakland, Calif.) at 12.43 seconds. In the 1,500 meter, senior
Lidia Barrios (Perris, Calif.) was the top Yote at 5:00.23, three tenths of a second ahead of junior
Yoselin Canseco (San Bernardino, Calif.) at 5:00.53.
In field events, junior
Mar'Azanae Townsend (San Diego, Calif.) won the high jump by eclipsing 1.47 meters, and was also the top Coyote in the triple jump at 10.27 meters.Â
Warrior PRed in the long jump at 5.77 meters to place second, with Townsend seventh at 4.99 meters.
Junior
Kennedi Jones (San Diego, Calif.) placed third in the shot put, just .01 away from a PR at 12.08 meters, while senior
Miranda Owen (San Bernardino, Calif.) paced the pack at 39.24 meters in the discus throw.
The Coyotes will return to action on Thursday to start the CCAA Championships in San Marcos on Thursday.
