SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's track & field team took part in a pair of meets Friday, running the 4x100 meter relay at the Mt. SAC Relays as well as a handful of events at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational.
At Azusa Pacific, senior
Kai Marroquin (Rosemead, Calif.) broke her own school record in the 800 meter run for the second time this season, this time shaving nearly two seconds off the record with a run of 2:12.47.
Sophomore
Madi Gutierrez (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) was the top Coyote thrower in the hammer, tossing just shy of her PR at 41.66 meters. She was followed by senior
Melissa Fongod (Corona, Calif.), who recorded a throw of 38.42 meters.
CSUSB had a pair of impressive showing in the 100 meter dash. Leading the charge was freshman
La Sheau Hayden (Bakersfield, Calif.), who ran a time of 12.45 seconds, seven one-hundredths away from a personal best. Following Hayden was junior
Rymiyah Pringle-Hamilton (Oakland, Calif.), who ran a time of 12.64 seconds.
At Mt. SAC, the 4x100 meter relay quartet of Hayden, Pringle-Hamilton,Â
Coryssa Hope (Moreno Valley, Calif.), and
Skye Harris (Los Angeles, Calif.) combined to run CSUSB's fastest time in the event this season, crossing the line in 11th with a time of 46.81.
The Coyotes will round out their busy weekend with the final day of the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific on Saturday.
