GREENWOOD, Ind. - Emilie Lapeña, a senior on the California State University San Bernardino softball team, earned recognition Tuesday on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District recognition by their athletic communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 grade point average and meet high athletic standards.

Lapeña, a native of Buena Park, Calif., graduated from CSUSB earlier this month with a 3.63 cumulative grade point average, earning a Bachelor's degree in business administration.
