EDMOND, Okla. - The California State University San Bernardino men's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday by playing the final round of the Oak Tree Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma Christian University at a windy Oak Tree Country Club.
The Coyotes finished 11th overall in the 17-team field, which struggled mightily in harsh windy conditions. The wind was blowing consistently at 25-35 miles per hour, wth gusts over 45 miles per hour.
Senior
John Kim (Palm Desert, Calif.) finished the tournament in fourth place overall individually at nine-over. He shot a one-over 71 in the opening round on Monday, followed by a pair of 74s.
Junior
Chris Wardrup (La Quinta, Calif.) had a top-10 finish of his own, placing ninth overall for the tournament. He turned in a 74 in the first round, 73 in the second round, and a 75 in Tuesday's final round.
The Yotes were one of only three teams at the tournament with multiple players in the top 10.
Trent Fitzgerald (Santee, Calif.) placed 67th overall at the tournament at +31, while freshman
Tyler Price (Yucaipa, Calif.) was 81st at +34. Graduate student
Jetty Sivongsay (Fullerton, Calif.) wrapped up the Coyote scorers at +43.
Next up for CSUSB, they will head to Sonoma State to compete in the Sonoma State Spring Invitational on March 24 and 25.
