BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's golf team finished in a tie for sixth Wednesday after the final round of the Battle in the Desert at Rams Hill Golf Club.
The Coyotes had their best round of the tournament, combining to shoot even par on the day. Senior John Kim (Palm Desert, Calif.) had a great round, coming in at four-under thanks to six birdies on the day. He finished the tournament at -8, tied for third and one shot off the pace.
Trent Fitzgerald (Santee, Calif.) had his best round of the week with an even par 72, while Chris Wardrup (La Quinta, Calif.) was one shot back at one-over 73.
Rounding out the scorers for the Coyotes was freshman Tyler Price (Yucaipa, Calif.), who shot a three-over 75.
Georgia Southwestern State University won the tournament as a team at -30, while Jack Peters of Stanislaus State won the individual title with a birdie on the third playoff hole.
