KOHALA COAST, Hawaii - The California State University San Bernardino men's golf team opened play Monday at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate, hosted by Hawaii-Hilo at the Mauna Lani Golf Club.
Through 36 holes, the Yotes find themselves in eighth place.
Junior 
Kamron Hopson (Redlands, Calif.) had CSUSB's low round in the opening 18. He had a tough opening nine, but settled into a groove on the back, shooting an even-par 36 en route to a four-over 76.
Sophomore 
Tyler Price (Yucaipa, Calif.) and redshirt freshman 
Steven Rivera (Fresno, Calif.) each shot six-over 78s in the opening round. Both matched a team-high with three birdies apiece.
Sophomores 
Mario Stump (Benicia, Calif.) and 
Aaron Parayno (Fresno, Calif.) rounded out the scoring with eight-over 80s.
The Coyotes had the fourth best team score in the second round of any team in the field at just five-over par. Rivera recorded the lone under-par round for the Coyotes on the day with a one-under 71, aided by a four-under, bogey-free back-nine 32.
Hopson had his second strong round of the day in round two, shooting an even-par 72, birdieing holes 2, 15, and 18, while Stump shot a two-over 74.
Rounding out the round two scorers for Cal State San Bernardino was Price, who carded a four-over 76.
The Yotes will close out the Dennis Rose on Tuesday, with the final round teeing off at 10:30 a.m. Pacific.
