WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - California State University San Bernardino men's golf sophomore
Chris Wardrup (La Quinta, Calif.) shot a second-round 72 on Wednesday afternoon as he finished the middle round of the NCAA Championships at the Orange County National Golf Center.
After bogeying holes one and three, Wardrup rebounded nicely by knocking in a birdie on the par-five fourth. He dropped a shot on the par-three sixth, but back-to-back birds on seven and eight drew him back to even for the round after the front nine.
Wardrup bogeyed the long par-four 12th, playing at 467 yards on Wednesday, but made birdie on the 14th to move back to even. He would go on to bogey 15 and 16 before dropping his fifth birdie of the day on 17.
At one-over for the tournament, Wardrup finds himself tied for 37th overall in the individual competition.
Wardrup will play the final round of the NCAA Championship on Thursday afternoon. His tee time is slated for 12:05 p.m. Eastern.
