GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The California State University San Bernardino men's golf team wrapped up the Hot Dirt Desert Shootout at the Golf Club of Estrella, climbing into a tie for third place to finish out the tournament.
The Coyotes shot five-under on the day to tie for the second best team score of the day. They finish three-under for the tournament, tied with Texas-Permian Basin, and seven shots off the tournament champions from Colorado Christian.
Senior
Cole Obrigewitsch (Deer Valley, Saskatchewan) turned in CSUSB's low round of the day, carding a three-under 69. He birdied five holes on the day, all coming on Estrella's par fours.
Senior
Andres Navarro (Montebello, Calif.) rebounded from a tough day yesterday to shoot a two-under 70 on Saturday. He made three back nine birdies on his way to the 70.
John Kim (Palm Desert, Calif.) went below par with a one-under 71. He birdied the par-four fifth, 10th, and 18th holes.
Freshman
Kamron Hopson (Redlands, Calif.) rounded out CSUSB's scores with a one-over 73.
Chris Wardrup (La Quinta, Calif.) turned in a four-over 76, while sophomore
Trent Fitzgerald (Santee, Calif.) shot a six-over 78 while competing as an individual.Â
The round concludes CSUSB's regular season, as the Yotes will return to action on Monday, April 22 for the CCAA Championships at Santa Rosa Country Club.
