SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Multiple school records fell on Friday afternoon as the California State University San Bernardino women's track & field team competed meets at Mt. San Antonio College and UC Riverside.
At Mt. SAC, the 4x400 meter relay team of
Na'kel Pennix (Redlands, Calif.),
Coryssa Hope (Riverside, Calif.),
Prishencia Nnoham (Palmdale, Calif.), and
Alexis White (San Bernardino, Calif.) set CSUSB's program record with a blazing time of 3:47.81. The time was good for an NCAA provisional mark.
White set an individual program record as well in the 400 meter run, clocking a lap around of the track of 55.05 seconds for an NCAA provisional mark.
Graduate student
Alexandra Ackerman (Lake Elsinore, Calif.) achieved an NCAA provisional mark of her own in the 100 meter dash. She set a personal best of 11.81 seconds, the exact NCAA provisional time.
Kyndahl Carter (Los Angeles, Calif.) notched another NCAA provisional mark in the 100 meter hurdles, running a time of 14.10 seconds.
Rounding out the times at Mt. SAC was the 4x100 meter relay team of Ackerman, White, Hope, and Nnoham, who became CSUSB's fourth different team to achieve an NCAA provisional mark in the event this season when they combined for a time of 46.34 seconds.
At UCR, junior
Emily Nguyen (Westminster, Calif.) set a wild PR in the javelin throw. Her toss of 36.49 meters was a personal best by over five meters and led her to a second place finish in the event. In fourth was classmate
Jaclyn Brown (Simi Valley, Calif.) at 33.01 meters, while
Kaleigh Giannone (Menifee, Calif.) had a toss of 26.36 meters.
In the hammer, junior
Elizabeth Rushing (Oakdale, Calif.) placed fourth overall with a heave of 45.98 meters, while classmate
Liz Ghazanchian (Glendale, Calif.) notched a throw of 33.79 meters to place 11th.
Closing out CSUSB's finishers at the meet were the 1,500 meter runners. Junior
Joanna Lopez (Ontario, Calif.) was the first Coyote to cross the line, finishing in 5:04.78 for a 12th place finish. Finishing in 15 through 17th respectively were
Kai Marroquin (Rosemead, Calif.),
Hailey Lynk (Banning, Calif.), and
Jordan Dennert (San Bernardino, Calif.) with times of 5:07.93, 5:08.11, and 5:08.40.
The Yotes will return to action on Saturday to wrap up the Chris Rinne Invitational at UCR.
