LIVERMORE, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes had a great tournament at the NDNU Argonaut Invitational, taking third place at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore.
Mark Williams led the way going +6 and finishing in fifth place. He shot even-par in the second round. Cody Hall was five strokes back and finished in 17th, with Brandon Steffins two strokes behind that in 23rd. Steffins and Williams both had the low rounds going even in the second round.
Hall was five-under on the par-five holes, second-best in the field and Williams' 36 pars were second-best as well. Steffins rolled home 10 birdies, fourth-best in the field. As a team, the Yotes were nine-under on the par-five holes, just one stroke back of the lead.
Western Washington won the event at +21 and Tyler Fitchett of Saint Martin's was the individual leader at +2.
CSUSB will head back to practice and gear up for the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational in Turlock on April 1st and 2nd.
