SAN FRANCISCO (April 2, 2017) — CSUSB won its first CCAA series Sunday afternoon, thanks to
Dillon Fahr and
Austin Lundeen in the Coyotes' 3-2 win over host San Francisco State at Mahoney Field.
The Coyotes improved to 9-22 overall and 8-13 CCAA and head into this week's home conference series against Sonoma State.
Down 2-0 through three innings, Fahr connected on his first home run of the season — a 2-1 delivery from Dillon Hauser that cleared the left-field wall.
Then in the sixth, Lundeen gave the Coyotes the lead for good on a two-out, two-run double to left center that scored
Lucas Martinez (single) and
Eli Zaragoza (walk).
Reliever
Matthew Moriarty earned the victory with four innings of relief. He had three strikeouts and allowed only one hit. Junior RHP
Brian Conley earned his second save of the series and his third in 2017 with no-hit ball in an inning and a third.
Lundeen and Martinez each had two hits.
SFSU fell to 8-23, 5-16
