Biography

2017: CSUSB's only All-CCAA honoree, earning honorable mention in vote among  conference coaches … Hit .311 (52 for 167) with 31 RBI (team leader) … Scored 28 runs and hit four HRs … Ten doubles were second on the team … On-base percentage of .406 was second on the team.

At New Mexico State: As a sophomore (2015), hit .230 (14-for-61) with six RBI and two doubles … As a freshman, (2014) played in 17 games … Hit .286 batting average … Only Aggie to hit two home runs in one game during the 2014 season (May 17 against Chicago State).

At Paul VI Catholic HS: Played three years of varsity baseball … The Panthers were state runner-ups in 2011 and state champions in 2012.  As a junior, named all-district, All-Metropolitan and all-state player while being named the Paul VI Catholic High School Player of the Year … Finished career with a .350 batting average and 85 RBI.

Personal: Son of Carmelo and Carmen Martinez … Business major … Father played Double-A ball with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
