CARSON (March 11, 2017) — CSUSB finished Saturday on a down note, losing both games of a CCAA doubleheader at Cal State Dominguez Hills, 3-2 and 5-3.
The Coyotes (4-16, 4-8 CCAA) plays host to Concordia-Irvine on Wednesday night, before hitting the road at Cal State East Bay on Saturday.
Game 1: CSUDH 3, Coyotes 2
David Alonzo went 3 for 3 and
Eli Zaragoza also had three hits, but the Coyotes stranded 11 runners.
Konner Arnold had two hits, including a run-scoring triple in the fifth.
Four Coyotes pitchers totaled seven walks.
Game 2: CSUDH 5, Coyotes 3
Lucas Martinez and
Kristian DeLaTorre each had RBIs in the first inning, and Zaragoza added a sac fly in the fourth.
CSUDH scored two runs in the fifth that broke a 3-3 tie.
Matthew Moriarty struck out four and walked two in six innings. Four of his five runs allowed were earned.
