LA JOLLA (March 21, 2015) -- Grant Buchanan and Aaron Owen had two hits apiece to lead the Coyotes in their 11-5 loss to No. 15 UC San Diego in CCAA baseball Saturday night.

CSUSB (5-21, 3-14) continues its series against the Tritons with a doubleheader Sunday at Fiscalini Field.

The Coyotes fell behind early, trailing 6-0 through two innings. The Tritons connected on seven hits and five of the six runs were earned against Coyotes RHP Kamden Haglund (1-5).

Buchanan connected on a one-out single that scored Damion Edmonds in the fourth, then Dillon Fahr accounted for the Coyotes' run in the fifth on a single to center that brought in Owen, who led off the inning with a double.

Down 7-2 through six innings, the Coyotes scored two runs in the seventh -- one on a fielder's choice by Edmonds that scored Owen, who led off on a hit by pitch and Andrew Lopez scored on an error.

But the Tritons scored twice in both the seventh and eighth to put the game out of reach.

Trevor Williams and Warren Fishback had the other hits for CSUSB. Williams tripled in the ninth.

Justin Donatella (5-1) threw six innings for the Tritons with eight strikeouts. CSUSB struck out 11 times against the three UCSD hurlers.
