OREM, Utah - The California State University San Bernardino baseball team suffered a 15-1 shortened defeat to Division I Utah Valley University Saturday afternoon in the second game of their series at UCCU Ballpark.
With the defeat, the Coyotes see their 10-game winning streak come to a close and fall to 15-13 overall.
Utah Valley scored in every inning except the second to cruise to the game two win. The Yotes grabbed their lone run in the top of the sixth inning on an RBI single from freshman
Tyson Pettingill (Overton, Nev.), plating senior Jerey Giesegh (Upland, Calif.).Â
CSUSB scattered six hits in the defeat, paced by a pair from senior
Garret Barto (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
The loss was charged to Coyote starter
Harrison Cordeiro (Chicago, Ill.), who allowed four earned runs over 3.1 innings pitched.
The Yotes and Wolverines will play the rubber game of their series on Sunday at UCCU Ballpark. First pitch is slated for 11:05 a.m. Pacific.
