SAN BERNARDINO -- The back-to-back combination of Nicole Nobbe and Tiffany McIntosh proved to be too much as Cal State San Bernardino earned a split against visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills on Monday afternoon in CCAA softball.

Nobbe went 3-for-4 with three doubles and McIntosh laced a pair of home runs to lead the Coyotes to an 8-5 victory over the Toros in the second game. Earlier, CSUDH came back with six runs in the seventh and won 8-5.

The teams rescheduled their weekend series with two games Monday and finish the series on March 11 in San Bernardino.

Game 1: CSUDH 8, Coyotes 5

Down 2-1 entering the bottom of the fifth, the Coyotes struck with three runs.

Darian Manuz led off the inning with a singled and moved over on a ground out by Nobbe. McIntosh then drove in Manuz with a double to center and Victoria Lievanos followed with a two-run home run over the left-center field wall.

That put the Coyotes up 4-2, but CSUDH sent eight batters to the plate and scored six runs on five hits.

Nobbe finished 3-for-4 -- all singles -- and Thalia Ortiz and McIntosh each had two hits.

Cassandra Williams threw five innings and gave up two runs -- both earned with four strikeouts.

Stephanie Luhman took the loss (3-4) as she gave up all six runs in the sixth.

Game 2: Coyotes 8, CSUDH 5

McIntosh came through with a two-run home run immediately after Nobbe hit a double to left center and CSUSB tied the game at 2-2.

The Toros scored one run in the second for a 3-2 lead until the Coyotes responded with three runs in the third.

Lievanos, Mary Menicucci and Alyssa Ramos all had RBI as the Coyotes had four hits in the inning and led 6-3.

In the fourth, Nobbe connected on her third double of the game and McIntosh followed with a massive two-run home run (her ninth this season) that easily carried over the left-field fence.

Ramos gave the Coyotes an 8-3 lead in the fifth on a run-scoring singled that scored Menicucci, who led off with a triple to right.

Luhman came back in the second game and earned the victory. She threw six innings with three strikeouts and gave up 10 hits, five runs (three earned).

Cassandra Williams earned the save with one inning of one-hit relief.
