Victoria Lievanos had a grand slam in the second game, but visiting No. 4 Humboldt State went on to earn a doubleheader sweep in CCAA softball Saturday at Coyote Park, by the scores of 12-6 and 9-4
The Coyotes (6-5 overall and 1-3 CCAA) step outside of conference play when they take on Cal Baptist on Tuesday at Coyote Park.
Game 1: Humboldt State 12, Coyotes 6
Williams got the action with her round tripper in the first and McIntosh delivered her three-run shot in the third, but Humboldt State posted 10 runs over the final three innings for the victory.
With
Darian Manuz (single) and
Tiffany McIntosh (walk) on base, Williams sent her homer to right center for a 3-0 Coyotes lead.
The Jacks came back with single runs in the second and third before McIntosh came through with her home run.
Thalia Ortiz reached on a hit by pitch and Manuz singled. One out later, McIntosh homered to left and CSUSB led 6-2.
Darian Harris had a three-run triple in the sixth and Allison McKibbon had a three-run homer in the seventh for the Lumberjacks. Dani Randall had a two-run home run in the fifth.
For the Coyotes, Williams and Manuz had two hits apiece. Ortiz and McIntosh accounted for the other hits.
Game 2: Humboldt State 9, Coyotes 4
Trailing 6-0 in the fifth, Lievanos pulled the Coyotes to within two runs with her grand slam.
Manuz opened the inning with a walk and
Nicole Nobbe singled to short. McIntosh loaded the bases and one out later, Lievanos lifted a high drive to left off Jacks' reliever Madison Williams.
But HSU (12-1 overall and 3-1 CCAA) answered with Tiffany Hollingsworth's second home run of the game – this time a 3-run shot.

Melissa Roberts each had two hits.
