Box Score ROHNERT PARK (Oct. 10, 2014) -- It proved to be a long day for No. 25 Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, losing to No. 14 Sonoma State 3-0 in CCAA women's soccer.
The Seawolves (11-1, 4-1 CCAA) succeeded on three of their five first-half shots and that was the difference.
"A few early mistakes made the difference today," Coyotes coach
Travis Clarke said. "Didn't clear a corner kick and gave up a PK before we got into the game.''
SSU scored in the 15th minute on a header from McKenzie Maher, then added its second on a penalty kick from Lauren Curtin three minutes later.
Alex Sifuentes added the final tally in the 41st minute.
The loss was CSUSB's third straight as it takes a 9-3 overall record and 2-3 slate in CCAA play into Sunday's contest at Humboldt State.
"We shut them out in the second half, but we play a 90-minute game,'' Clarke said. "We need to figure it out and be prepared for Sunday.''
