Coyotes' winning streak snapped in 2-1 loss

No. 25 CSUSB faces Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday

Box Score LA JOLLA – Freshman Kiana Quarles added to her team-best goal total, but the Coyotes fell short in a 2-1 loss to UC San Diego in women's CCAA soccer Friday.

The loss was the Coyotes' first in eight games and snapped their four-game winning streak.

CSUSB will take an 8-3-1, 6-2-1 CCAA record into Sunday's game at Cal Poly Pomona.

Down 1-0 after the 62nd minute, Quarles came through in the 75th minute. She received the ball from Carissa Kutkowski and scored off a rebound.

But six minutes later, UCSD's Cassie Callahan gave the Tritons the go-ahead goal.

Kutkowski led CSUSB with three SOG as the Coyotes out-shot the Tritons 15-10.

Senior Chelsey Jones had six saves.
