Box Score: No. 15 UCSD 1, Coyotes 0 2OT
SAN BERNARDINO -- UCSD's Cassie Callahan scored the game's only goal in the 100th minute as the Coyotes were stopped 1-0 by No. 15 UC San Diego in CCAA women's soccer Sunday.
The loss was CSUSB's first this season as it dropped to 4-0-1 overall and 3-1 in the CCAA. UCSD remains in front in the CCAA South at 5-0, 4-0.
UC San Diego out-shot the Coyotes 3-0 in the first overtime and made the most of its opportunity just 49 seconds into the second OT. Callahan was on the receiving end of a pass from Alexa Enlow and that made the difference in the ballgame.
Jani Carmona-Urbano led CSUSB with four shots, while freshman
Miranda Corneliussen had two shots -- both SOG. UCSD outshot the Coyotes 26-111 and mustered 10 SOG to CSUSB's five.
Junior GK
Chelsey Jones earned the start and had nine saves as her record is now 1-1-1.
Both teams had six corner kicks and CSUSB had 12 fouls to UCSD's five in a physical contest.
CSUSB will now be on the road for the first time this season when it plays at San Francisco State on Friday. The Coyotes defeated the Gators at Coyote Premier Field on Sept. 9, 4-1.
