Coach
Travis Clarke's squad looks to build their winning streak Sunday at Sonoma State.
"We grinded out a win against a very good Humboldt State team,'' Clarke said. "They are much better than their record
would indicate.''
Down 1-0, Keyes tied the game at 1-1 in the 31st minute on an unassisted goal. Senior
Jani Carmona-Urbano gave CSUSB a 2-1 lead when she scored seven minutes later off a rebound.
The game remained 2-1 CSUSB, until HSU's Aliya McCarthy tied the game in the 67th minute.
"We had numerous injuries that happened in the 2nd half and it was an entire team effort to get the win,'' Clarke said. "We had reserve defenders playing big minutes at outside and center midfield and they did a fantastic job getting us through the game.''
