SAN BERNARDINO -- The Coyotes scored seven runs on eight hits in the third inning and went on to win 10-2 in a game that was shortened due to the eight-run rule as they earned a split over visiting Cal State Stanislaus on Friday at Coyote Park.
The Coyotes had their six-game winning streak snapped in the opener in a 7-3 loss. CSUSB is 19-13 overall and 11-11 in the CCAA, while the Warriors are now 14-16 and 11-11.
The two teams complete their weekend series with a doubleheader Saturday that begins at 11 a.m. The Coyotes will serve as hosts for their annual Swing for Life campaign -- an effort to raise breast cancer awareness.
Game 1: Warriors 7, Coyotes 3
Alyssa Flores and
Jamie Roland each had three hits, but the Warriors broke away with a three-run seventh to win the game.
Britney Butler and

Game 2: Coyotes 10, Warriors 2 (6 innings)
The Coyotes broke away from their foe with an impressive seven-run, eight-hit rally in the third and made the game a short one when Flores hit a pop-liner just inside the right-field line that ended the game on the eight-run rule.
Four straight singles by
Alex Mitchell, Butler,
Jamie Leffingwell and Wilhelms pushed three runs across. After Flores was hit by a pitch,
Priscilla Curiel doubled to left to score Wilhelms.
Felicia Cervantes then singled in Flores and
Jacquelyn Holtzclaw hit a two-run double to push the score to 7-0.
Wilhelms added a home run in the fourth.
Leading 8-2 entering the sixth, Butler hit a sacrifice fly that scored Roland and three batters later, Flores delivered the game-winning runs, driving in Leffingwell and Wilhelms.
Brianne Godfreddson came on in the fifth and threw shutout relief in 1 2/3 innings for starter RHP
Carly Land, who earned the victory with 4 1/3 innings.
Leffingwell, Wilhelms, Flores, Holtzclaw and Roland each had two hits.
