LOS ANGELES -- The Coyotes baseball squad had its way with Cal State L.A. on Friday, earning a 12-6 victory and taking the first two games of the weekend series.

David Silvas and
Eric Dow each homered for the Coyotes, who led from the get-go. They scored two runs in the second, added single runs in the fourth and fifth, and put the game away with eight runs over the final two innings.
Dow had two hits and four RBI to lead the Coyotes, now 5-5, 3-1 CCAA.
Brandon Day had two hits and three RBI, while Silvas,
Mike Newell,
Erik Ornelas and
Ethan Chapman also had two hits each.
The Coyotes held a 4-2 lead after seven innings before getting a key two-run home run by Dow to make it 6-2. The Coyotes then scored six more runs in the ninth, while the Golden Eagles struck back for four runs in the bottom of the ninth before leaving the bases loaded to end it.
Cal State San Bernardino got a two-out, two-run single in the second inning from Dow to take a 2-0 lead and then made it 3-0 in the fourth on a run-scoring double by Chapman.
A solo home run by Silvas leading off the fifth made it 4-0.
