As a Junior in 2009: Appeared in 46 games with 46 starts at 2B… Named second-team All-CCAA in standout first year with the Coyotes…Named 1st-team ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region… Earned Honorable Mention NCBWA All-West Region… Hit .344 with 6 HRs and team-leading 46 RBI… Owned 12 multi-hit games including a 5-for-6 effort against Grand Canyon… Had a double and a HR and scored season-high four runs against the Antelopes in 17-9 victory… Dipped below .290 only once after the fifth game of the season… Went 2-for-3 with two doubles on April Fools Day… Owned 12 multi-RBI games including five in series final against CSU Monterey Bay (3-for-6, a triple).

At Fullerton College: Played two seasons … Earned 2nd team all-conference honors… In 2009, hit .285 with a team-high 49 hits in 172 at-bats with two home runs, six doubles, a triple, 31 runs scored and 19 RBI… Walked just 16 times… Recorded 94 putouts and 134 assists in the field.

At Anaheim HS: Played four years graduating in 2006… Earned both second-team and first-team all-league honors.

Personal: Son of Gerardo and Maria Ornelas… Kinesiology major who plans to teach and coach after graduation.… Enjoys watching TV and playing video games as well as working out… Enjoys following the Dodgers and likes to spend Sunday nights watching “The Family Guy.’’
