SAN BERNARDINO
-- A 20-win season will always be considered a monumental achievement.

But that accolade isn't enough for the 2010-11 CSU San Bernardino women's basketball team. There are plenty of other goals on coach Kevin Becker's list as the month of February draws to a close.

For only the third time in Becker's career the Coyotes earned a 20-win season by virtue of their 57-46 win over visiting Cal State East Bay at Coussoulis Arena on Thursday night. CSUSB takes a 20-5 overall mark and 16-5 CCAA record into Friday night's regular-season finale against UC San Diego with third place on the line in the CCAA.

Senior Sabrina Gonzalez led the Coyotes with 17 points including five 3-pointers and senior Danielle Shows added 10 points with 13 rebounds for her second double-double in four games and third on the season. Senior Eisha Sheppard joined her fellow seniors in double digits with 10 and a game-high five assists.

Shows and Gonzalez each had three steals, while Amber Glasser added nine points. Angela Streets had seven and Kym Ooten had four points with six rebounds.

The Coyotes never trailed in this contest and led by as many as 17 in the first half. They never let the Pioneers, now 4-21, 4-17 get closer than seven points in the second half.

The key in this game centered on turnovers. The Coyotes forced CSUEB into 21 turnovers and made the Pioneers pay. CSUSB outscored its foe 22-7 off turnovers and that summed up the night.

Azizi Dotson led the Pioneers with 14 points.

The Coyotes will honor their seniors Friday -- Gonzalez, Ooten, Shows, Sheppard, Shyneese Walters, Sierra Chess, Cierra Foster and Emily Nichols -- in a pregame ceremony.
