ST. GEORGE, UTAH – #Eric Dow had a pair of hits and Matt Winn had Cal State San Bernardino's only extra-base hit -- a double -- as CSUSB lost the first game of a doubleheader, 3-1 at Dixie State on Friday.

The second game was all about the Coyotes' pitching as junior RHP #Casey McCarthy and relievers Jeff Terzo# and Josh Pond combined on a one-hitter in seven innings as CSUSB won 3-1.

The two teams will complete the three-game series with a single game at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Junior RHP Aaron Brooks (0-2) took the loss for the Coyotes despite striking out seven batters.

In the second game, McCarthy threw five innings, struck out two and gave up the game's only hit --
Colton Yack's single in the fourth. Yack later scored on a wild pitch.

Erik Ornelas had an RBI-single and Eric Dow went 2-for-2 with two RBI.

The series finale is Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
