As a Sophomore in 2010: Earned second-team All-CCAA status… Posted a 6-2 record with a 4.43 ERA… Earned 14 starts with 14 appearances and threw team-high 101 2/3 innings… Pitched two complete games and one shutout – a six-hitter with six strikeouts and three walks in 7-0 win over San Francisco State (4/16/00)… Tough-luck outing against CSU Stanislaus in which he threw 10 innings, struck out 10 and scattered six hits in 4-3 13-inning defeat… Threw 9 innings against Chico State (3/12), but did not earn a decision in 8-5 loss in 10 innings… Had one other game where he struck out 10 – allowed seven hits in and one walk in 11-5 win over CSU Dominguez Hills.

As a Freshman in 2009: Outstanding first season of college ball… Named CCAA “Freshman of the Year’’… Enjoyed a 2-3 record in 10 mound appearances, nine of them starts… Threw one complete game, a 9-1 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay in which he gave up just three hits in seven innings… Struck out 48 batters in 53 innings.

At Cajon HS: Played four years at the nearby campus… Played four years of baseball and earned All-CIF, All-San Andreas League and San Bernardino County all-star honors… Established team records for career wins and home runs.

Personal: Son of Terry Brooks… Kinesiology major, who enjoys fishing and weightlifting. … Played summer ball with the Palm Springs Power… Has two siblings.… Angels OF Torii Hunter is his favorite athlete… Says his favorite vacation place is “anywhere I can fish.’’… Follows the Angels.
