SAN BERNARDINO -- On a day where temperatures nearly reached 110 degrees Sunday, the No. 14 Cal State San Bernardino women's soccer team was dealt a 1-0 shutout loss to Cal State L.A. in CCAAA women's soccer at Premier Field.
The loss sends the Coyotes to a 5-2-1 overall record and 3-2-1 in the CCAA, while the visiting Golden Eagles improved to 5-2-0, 4-2-0.
Senior Liz Franco provided the game's only goal when she scored in the game' s 63rd minutes. Stacey Rodwell sent her teammate the ball to the deep left corrner and Franco fired a nearly parallel shot toward Coyotes GK
Tiffany Mallick. The ball found the net and the goal would hold up for CSULA.
Tied at 0-0 at halftime, CSULA built momentum with eight shots on goal and finally converted on Franco's shot.
The Coyotes had difficulty building an offensive flow in the final 45 minutes. Their first shot attempt took nearly 30 minutes and Golden Eagles GK Gabriella Batmani finished with three saves in the half and four for the game.

CSUSB returns to CCAA play this Friday when they play at UC San Diego. They complete the weekend with a Sunday game at Cal State East Bay.
